ProCamera provides flexible control over focus and exposure—from fully automatic, to semi-automatic and fully manual adjustments.
If you are specifically interested in learning about manual controls, check out this article.
Fully-automatic Focus and Exposure mode (AUTO)
When you open ProCamera, a blue Focus Square and yellow Exposure Circle (labeled AUTO) appear at the center of the viewfinder. This means the app is ready to shoot automatically, like a point-and-shoot camera. Simply aim at your subject and tap the Shutter button.
Using the Focus and Exposure Control Elements
To set the focus or exposure on a specific subject in your scene, move the blue Focus Square or yellow Exposure Circle onto it.
These control elements serve as metering points for adjusting focus and exposure directly in the viewfinder. By positioning them on a subject or specific area, you determine exactly where ProCamera measures and sets the focus and exposure.
Tap to set both focus and exposure at a specific point—or drag to move each element independently.
Locking focus or exposure
To lock focus or exposure, press and hold the corresponding control element. Once locked, the values remain unchanged even if you move the camera or the scene changes. Press and hold again to unlock.
Adjusting brightness
To adjust the overall brightness of the image without moving the exposure circle, use the Exposure Compensation (EV) dial. Tap the EV button at the top center to reveal the EV dial above the Shutter button, then slide to adjust brightness. To reset, tap the blue outlined EV value in the top bar.
Tip: To exclusively use the EV dial for brightness adjustments, you can hide the Exposure Circle in Settings > Exposure > Exposure Circle.
