Exporting files out of the Private Lightbox using the iOS Files app

With ProCamera 17.3, we have upgraded the Lightbox (internal media library inside of ProCamera) to support fast and easy file transfers to a Mac or Windows computer. Additionally, you can now access your Lightbox content from any app that integrates with the Files app.

However, files in the Private Lightbox are safeguarded and cannot be accessed from any other app – but you can export them to the iOS Files app.

How to export files in your Private Lightbox to the iOS Files app

  1. In ProCamera, open the Private Lightbox album.

  2. Select a file or multiple files that you wish to transfer.
  3. Tap the Share button (upward arrow icon) to open the system's share menu.

  4. Scroll down the list and select Save to Files.

Then, select where to save the selected files to:

  • iCloud Drive - to transfer the selected files to one of your iCloud Drive folders.
  • On my iPhone - to transfer the selected files to one of the iPhone's internal folders.
  • External Drive (if connected) - to transfer the selected files to an external drive.

If other third-party apps are installed on your iPhone, you may be offered additional exporting options.

Note that you can also transfer Private Lightbox files to the iOS Media Library. In this case, these files will be saved in the Recents album of the native Photos app. To learn how to export files using this method, follow these instructions.
