Launch Settings

ProCamera can be set to automatically restore selected camera settings to your preferred defaults each time the app is launched. After the app has been fully closed for about one minute, your saved defaults are reapplied when reopening ProCamera. This ensures a consistent shooting setup from the start.

This feature is ideal for users who want to always start with a specific camera mode (Photo, Video, etc.), file format (such as JPEG or RAW), exposure mode (A, SI, M, or EB), or a manually selected lens. Manual control values like ISO or Exposure Time are not affected by this setting; those are handled separately using the “Preserve Settings” feature.

Enabling Launch Settings:

  1. Open ProCamera Settings.
  2. Tap the Launch Settings (General options section).
  3. Enable Auto Reset option.

Setting Your Default Launch Configuration

To define your default Launch Settings, start by configuring ProCamera the way you want it. Adjust camera modes, enable or disable features, and select your preferred setup. Then go to the Launch Settings page and tap Save Defaults. This stores your current configuration as the default.

If ProCamera has been in the background for more than one minute, these defaults will be applied the next time you open the app. This lets you begin each session with your preferred setup, while any changes you make during use will not overwrite your saved defaults.

This intentional one-minute delay is designed to support a smoother workflow — especially useful when capturing a series of shots that require consistent settings. After a minute of inactivity, ProCamera assumes your session is complete and resets to your predefined Launch Settings.

What’s Included in Launch Settings

Only certain settings are included in the Launch Settings, such as File Format, Smart HDR status, Exposure Mode (A, SI, M, or EB), Aspect Ratio, Flash state, B&W mode, Orientation Lock, Anamorphic Desqueeze, Mirroring, selected rear lens, and second shutter button function.

Settings such as Exposure Compensation (EV), digital zoom level, grid overlay, tiltmeter, histogram, Rapid Fire, and On-Screen Display (OSD) mode are not included in the Launch Settings and will remain as they were when you last used ProCamera.

Reset Launch Settings to Defaults

To reset the Launch Settings to defaults, go to the Launch Settings page and tap Restore Factory Defaults.

Launch Settings compared to Preserve Settings

There is another feature in ProCamera that lets you launch the app with specific parameters already applied — Preserve Settings. It can be found in ProCamera Settings > Preserve Settings.

When enabled, Preserve Settings remembers your last-used configuration in manual M or semi-auto SI mode, even after closing the app or restarting your device. This is especially useful for ongoing projects where you want to continue exactly where you left off without having to set everything up again.

  • Use Launch Settings if you prefer starting each session with your predefined defaults.
  • Use Preserve Settings if you want to resume your last-used setup automatically.

While we don’t typically recommend using both features at the same time, some users find it beneficial for specific workflows or use cases.
