Mirroring

For some shooting purposes — for example when you use special add-on lenses or take selfies — the image in the viewfinder needs to be flipped vertically or horizontally. ProCamera includes a dedicated feature for this called Mirroring. This article shows you how to enable and use it.

Activating Mirroring:

1. Open ProCamera. Tap the Control Panel button.
2. Swipe left to access the second page of the Control Panel.
3. Tap the Mirroring button.
4. In the sub menu, select the desired mirroring option.

Once you have selected an option, a Mirroring button will be displayed on the Capture Screen. Tap it to toggle mirroring on or off during your session. To disable Mirroring entirely, return to the Control Panel (Page 2) and turn off the Mirroring button by selecting "Normal (F)" — this removes the Mirroring button from the Capture Screen.

Tip: The letter "F" of the mirroring icon indicates how the image will be mirrored.

The Mirroring setting can be preserved across sessions using the Preserve Settings feature, or set as a default at app launch via Launch Settings.

Use Mirroring with the Front Camera

The Mirroring feature described above works for the rear camera only, across Photo, Video, HDR, LowLight, LowLight Plus, and Portrait modes. When the front camera is active in these modes, Mirroring is not available.

In Selfie mode, the live preview is mirrored by default to make framing feel more natural. You can toggle this by tapping the mirror icon in the top-right corner of the Capture Screen. Note that this setting affects the preview only — the resulting photo is not mirrored.

If you would like the final (selfie) photo to be mirrored in a certain way, you can do so in ProCamera's Editing Studio. Open the photo, navigate to the Rotate tool, and use the dedicated flip option.
